Asbestos & Lead Abatement

After the Results Are In

Asbestos & Lead Abatement

Once testing has identified asbestos or lead based paint, the next step is to understand what the results mean for the planned work. We review the findings with you, define the areas that need attention, and arrange the appropriate abatement before repairs or renovation continue.

Before Work Begins

We start with the test results and the work you have planned, so affected materials are addressed before they are disturbed.

The Findings Set the Scope

We look at where the material was identified and which parts of the property the work will affect.

Controlled Removal

The work area is separated and the identified materials are removed using controls appropriate to the hazard.

Attention to Adjacent Spaces

Protecting areas outside the work zone is part of the plan, not an afterthought.

CONTROLLED ABATEMENT

Asbestos & Lead Abatement Explained.

A Positive Result Does Not Mean Everything Comes Out

The report tells us which materials tested positive; the planned work tells us which of those materials may be disturbed. An asbestos containing material in good condition may not need removal if it will remain untouched. We review both the findings and your project before defining the abatement area.

Asbestos Before Renovation

A renovation can turn a material that was previously left undisturbed into one that must be addressed. Before cutting into a wall, pulling up flooring, or removing a ceiling, the affected area needs to be compared with the test results. That lets the abatement work happen before ordinary demolition begins.

Lead Based Paint on Working Surfaces

Doors, windows, and trim take regular wear. When lead-based paint is present, deterioration or work on those surfaces can create dust and paint chips. The location and condition of the paint matter when planning the work; this is not simply a matter of applying a fresh coat over it.

The Work Area Has Boundaries

Abatement is not ordinary demolition. The affected area must be set up for the material being handled, with access and work practices controlled during removal. We explain which spaces will be affected and what needs to happen after the abatement work before the next trade begins. The specific requirements differ between asbestos and lead projects.

Not Sure Which Service Fits?

Property damage does not always stay in one category. Water can lead to mold, while a fire may leave behind smoke. Tell us what happened, and we’ll help identify the right first response.

Good questions

Asbestos & Lead Abatement: What People Ask Us.

Can Repairs Begin as Soon as the Material Is Removed?

Not necessarily. The work area must first be cleaned, and any required inspection or clearance must be completed. We’ll explain what remains to be done for your project before repair work resumes.

What If We Find Something That Wasn’t in the Test Report?

Stop work in that area and leave the material undisturbed. The original results only cover what was tested. Before work continues there, the newly exposed material should be assessed by a qualified testing professional. We can then review the updated findings and adjust the abatement scope if needed.
